Lamisi Reach Out Foundation's Christmas Party for The Kids

These are some of the pictures from the party held for the kids by the Lamisi Reach Out Foundation in the Ashaiman Municipality and its environs on the 26th December, 2014 at the Ashaiman Presby School Park. At the end of the day, it was all smiles and joy written on the faces of the children. The children really came in their numbers. By doing this, the Foundation is also trying to inculcate the habit of giving in the children. They were also made to know that it was good to give a helping hand to those in need in the society.

The founder of the Foundation, Lamisi Sam Awinongya has been doing this for children for the past three years and this year's event seems to have surpassed the other years. We hope and believe in the Almighty God that this is just the tip of the iceberg, the Foundation will move to greater heights in the coming year. We will like to say a big thank you to all those who helped with their donations either in cash , food stuffs, helped in distributing the food to the children and also in kind. We  trust and believe in the Almighty God for such a wonderful day with the kids. God bless you all for your help.  Lets keep up the spirit of giving to the poor and needy in the society, may the New Year bring us more favor from God and good health. There is more in giving than receiving, the children are the future of this beautiful country, love them, protect them and care for them.

Happy Children, Happy Christmas

Once again, the month of December is gradually approaching and we all know that is the month in which we celebrate Christmas. The Lamisi Reach Out Foundation's annual Christmas party for children in and around Tema and Ashaiman will be held again. We were very happy last year when the foundation was able to put smiles on the faces of more than 900 children in and around Tema and Ashaiman. The children partied and danced till they were tired. In fact they were very grateful to Lamisi Sam Awinongya, the CEO of the foundation. She is someone who has a caring heart and would do everything possible to make children happy.

This year's event for the children will be targeting about 2000 children and we expect more sponsors to come on board to support this worthy initiative. This year's event will be held at the Ashaiman Presbyterian School on the 26th December, 2014 from 11am. We all know that Christmas is a time for giving and sharing, so anyone who wants to help in making this event a success can contact this number 0277507278 and he or she will be directed on how to make the contribution. God bless you all and we hope to get more donations from you all. Lets make the children happy for happy children make a happy nation.

GIVING AT ALL TIMES

Birthdays are special days in the lives of every individuals.you use that opportunity to keep thanking your maker for adding a year to your age. everyone has a way of celebrating .some throw parties for their loved ones to come share the day with them, others would rather stay indoors, etc but in all the day will still be remembered as a special day to the celebrant.
have you in any instance thought of the helpless who have no one to share a day like this with them ?
no text messages.no party,no family to even wish them well?  if you haven't then am reminding you today to give it a thought

i once wished an orphan a happy birthday and the reaction i got from her was rather awkward. she just smiled and said she didn't even know there was still someone who would remember her on a day like that since she forgot about birthday wishes  long ago when she realized she was now alone in the world. sad isn't  it?  so how do you think people in such situations will feel if you remember them once in a while ?

I have celebrated my birthday most times with the helpless and trust me the feeling is overwhelming and i would urge everyone to try it.you may not know their birthdays but you can surprise them with having a fun day with them on your day. the helpless feel loved when they are around us so try your best to visit  them when you can and it shouldn't be only on birthdays alone.just like i send stuffs to the needy on my birthdays and other times, you can do same and trust me little by little, we will help make the changes we all crave for.

Children Braving The Odds To Access Education In Rural Ghana

Somewhere in the Western Region of Ghana? These kids still beat all odds to go to school whether rain or shine. My fear is, what if they are harmed by animals like snakes or even fall sick?  Or even get drowned whiles crossing  to the other side? How comfortable will they even be when they finally get to school drenched like that? This is our beloved Ghana and some children are made to go through so much danger before going to school. This has to be repeated on their way back from school. Looking at the picture, these children seem to be oblivious of the dangers associated with their wading through the water before getting to school. The question i will ask is, what have these children done to deserve this? Can't the authorities do something to help the children cross the river safely to school.? It will shock you to know that the politicians will go to such areas when its getting to the general elections just to make sweet promises to the people in these communities. And you will also be surprised that most of the mineral resources and timber can be found in the Western Region of Ghana.

Have our leaders failed the young and upcoming generations? What does the future hold for these young ones who have been made to go through such dangers before accessing education? They are going through all these through no fault of theirs. Yet at the end of the day, these children and their counterparts in the urban areas will be writing the same exams without considering the inconveniences they went through in the rural areas before accessing education. It seems Ghana stopped working a long time ago. If Ghana is to work again, these children braving the odds to access education in some of  the rural areas. This is just somewhere in the  Western Region of Ghana. What about the rural areas in the other regions? I just admire the tenacity and determination of these kids to go to school no matter the dangers associated with it. God save Ghana, our leaders should wake up from their slumber and give the children a bright future. Don't forget to pray for the safety of all children in Ghana as they brave the odds to access education.

Concert Held To Raise Funds For Thomas Cann

Lamisi  Sam Awinongya and some of her Friends who came for the Thomas Cann's Fund raising Concert

The Children were also  at the concert to help save Thomas Cann's life
There comes a time in one's life when he/she has to help save the lives of others who have been afflicted by life threatening sicknesses. It is our responsibility as human beings to take good care of one another and not to walk away when one has the means to help his/her fellow human being. The Lamisi Reach Out Foundation has been doing its best to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in our society. The Foundation organized a fund raising concert for Broadcast Journalist Thomas Cann who has a problem with his kidney. This concert was a huge success.

The concert was held on the 7th of June, 2014 at the Our Lady Of Mercy School in Tema. Several Ghanaian musicians such as Kesse, Ephraim, D. Cryme and a host of others came to help save the life of their dear brother. Also at the concert were Miss Excell Plus 2013, Lamisi Sam Awinongya (Winner of Ghana's Most Beautiful, 2009), Mohan the Nothern Region's Representative (Ghana's Most Beautiful, 2010), Araba (Western Region's Representative, Ghana's Most Beautiful, 2010), Mr. and Mrs. Baiden of Dirt Entertainment and a whole lot of people also came to grace the occasion. The Lamisi Reach Out Foundation will also like to thank the media people who were involved and they were Samuel of Flex Paper, Adom FM, Channel R, Barimah Agyemang etc etc.

At the end of the concert everyone went home with a happy heart, and despite the funds that were raised at the concert, we still need more donations from everyone out there to keep our dear brother Thomas Cann alive. It could be you or me right now in his position. You can find more details about how to donate to save the life of Thomas Cann on our social media pages. You can find us on facebook via Lamisi Reach Out Foundation and also on Google Plus +Lamisi Reach Out Foundation. God Almighty bless you all.

Lamisi's New Year Festival For Children

Once again, a New Year, 2014 began and my foundation, the Lamisi Reach-Out Foundation as has been the norm decided to organise an event for children in Tema and Ashaiman . This was dubbed  The Indomie Go Green New Year Festival. This was held on 1st January, 2014 at the Chemu Park , Community 7, Tema. With the help of Indomie Instant Noodles and the Environmental Health Club, this event became successful as the over 1000 children who were fed at various locations had the opportunity to dance, eat and have fun. The Environmental Health Club was also able to educate the children on the need to keep the environment clean by not throwing rubbish around. They also educated the children on how to separate the various waste materials such as plastics, paper and metals for recycling. Thus, a healthy environment makes our children better and healthy future leaders.

I was also very happy as i had the opportunity to also be closer to the children and have fun with them. The smiles on their faces showed how much they enjoyed themselves. Several friends of mine also came to grace the occasion and help put smiles on the faces of the children. To all those good friends who came from far and near to help make the children happy, may God bless you all for your time and patience for attending such an important event as you could have been somewhere else on the first day of the New Year.

My utmost thanks also goes out to the main sponsors, Indomie Instant Noodles and the Environmental Health Club for supporting me in making the event a success. God bless all children in the world. I hope to organise more events for them.
